Hi! I hope you had a nice weekend!
Please
remember to check your child’s homework folder every day. Even if he/she did the work during after
school class please check it. Thanks!
I sent home a schedule for parent teacher conferences. (We will have our
conferences the week of September 30 rather than the week of October 14.)
Please write your child’s name in three spaces indicating times that you would
be able to come in. I will make every effort to schedule a time that you
request. I look forward to meeting with you!
Tomorrow,
September 17, is our La Paloma Academy read-in.
It would be a great opportunity to spend time reading with your child at
school! And, you can enjoy an ice cream sundae together too! I hope to see you then!
Wednesday,
September 18, is a special Duds For Dollars Day to raise funds for the garden
project.
Monday,
October 7, through Friday, October 11 will be Fall Break. There will be no
school that week.
This week in science we
will conclude our focus on simple machines. In social studies we conclude our focus
on national symbols.
This week’s
spelling words are below. Please be
sure that your child reads and practices these words every day. Your child’s spelling test scores
directly reflect the time they spend reading and practicing the words.
The reading
log must be completed and is due on Monday. It is essential that your child
read as much as possible to strengthen her/his reading skills.
Have a great week!
