I would like to thank those of you that came in for parent teacher conferences last week. I really appreciate this time. If you were unable to come in at your scheduled time and you would like to come in on another day, please contact me and I will be happy to arrange a time for us to meet.

Thursday, October 6, is an extremely important day for La Paloma Academy. It is the 40th day of school and funding is based on student attendance that day. Please make every effort to have your child at school. It will be a fun day as well. We will make applesauce that day!

On Wednesday, October 12, report cards will be sent home.

Harvest Break will be October 13 and 14. There will be no school those days.

Hi Everyone!

Last week was a great week! We really enjoyed sharing our science "experiment" with grandparents on Wednesday. It is always nice to have grandparents around! :)

This Tuesday is La Paloma night at Skate Country. This is fun for everyone!

Please be sure your child comes to school in dress code and his/her shirt is tucked in. Thanks!

So that you can plan accordingly: October 13 and 14, Thursday and Friday, is Fall Break and there will be no school on those days.

FYI - I'm sure you realize that the public library is a great resource for books, tapes and videos. But did you know that you can check out these items online? You can reserve a book anytime. You just go to www.library.pima.gov, search the catalog for the book or item you want, click on the title, click on the reserve link, and enter your library card number and PIN. You can select any branch as the location to pick up your book and it will be ready in a few days!

Grandparent's Day is this Wednesday. We look forward to having our grandparents in our class!

the Entertainment Book sale ended last week. If you still have a book that you do not wish to purchase please return it immediately. Thank you for your cooperation!

As you know La Paloma Academy has a dress code that requires shirts be tucked in. It would help the children if they came to school with their shirts already tucked in. They are trying very hard to comply and anything to help them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

It was great seeing those of you that were able to make it to Open House!

I sent home the schedules for conferences today, Wednesday. If you didn't request a time, I sent a blank schedule for Monday through Friday (September 19 through September 23) so that you can still do so. I will make every effort to arrange a conference at one of the times you indicate.

The Entertainment Book sale is over this week. If you have not returned the unsold book please do so immediately.

Please have your child read and practice the spelling words as much as possible. Their scores reflect time spent on studying the words.
