October 26 Newsletter Highlights

The La Paloma Academy Harvest Fest is this Friday, October 26, at the Lakeside campus. There will be fun for all! Hope to see you there!

Any donation of candy for the Harvest Fest will be greatly appreciated.

As you know, with the cooler weather children are coming to school with sweaters and jackets. Any sweater or light jacket worn inside must be solid red, white or navy. Thanks for your cooperation.

Please remember to send in a short note describing a situation when you feel that your child has demonstrated a noteworthy act of good character. (They really do love this!)

If you could send in a bottle of hand sanitizer I would really appreciate it. The children are very conscientious in their use of it, but it does run out quickly. Thanks so much.

Reminder - the tickets for the February 11 Theatreworks presentation of Nate the Great will cost $8.00. This must be paid by December 1. Permission slips are attached to this week's newsletter.

Please read and practice this week's spelling words with your child each day. The test will be Friday.

NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS

Report card day for the first quarter is Friday, October 9. This will be an early dismissal day (11:30). Lunch will not be served and there will be no after-school classes.

Harvest Break will be Monday and Tuesday, October 12 and 13. There will be no school on those days.

Thursday, October 8, is an extremely important day for La Paloma Academy. It is the 40th day of school and funding is based on attendance that day. Please make every effort to have your child in school that day. A special lunch will be served!

Also, because our class has been on their best behavior since the first day of school, they have earned their first character party! We thought that Thursday afternoon would be a great time to have it. The children may wear pajamas and bring slippers and a small stuffed toy. They will participate in free choice of classroom center activities and watch a movie. They would like to snack on a variety of goodies (chips, cookies, veggies and ranch dressing, etc.). If you would like to send in a store-bought treat for this occasion please feel free to do so.

Please remember to send in a short note describing a situation when you feel that your child has demonstrated a noteworthy act of good character. They love this!

Please have your child read and practice his/her spelling words.
