On Tuesday, November 26, our students will have a Thanksgiving Feast.  Second grade is supposed to provide the mashed potatoes.  Your contribution of a box of mashed potatoes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanksgiving Break begins on Wednesday, November 27.  There will be no school until Monday, December 1. 

The holiday food drive begins today. A list of preferred items was sent home last week. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Again, please remind your child to tuck in his/her shirt before school.  Thanks!

We will be going to Buckelew Farm on Tuesday, October 29!  The cost for the visit is $7.00; this includes transportation, admission, and a pumpkin.  Please sign and return the permission slip with $7.00 as soon as possible.

This year the Harvest Fest will be this Friday, October 25.  This is an evening filled with fun, games, food and family! I hope to see you there!

Attached are two reading logs. One is a required assignment. Another is attached should your child wish to participate in the reading contest to win a book from Bookman’s. If your child turns in four  reading logs this month she/he will get a certificate to obtain a book at bookman’s.

It is essential that your child read as much as possible to strengthen her/his reading skills.

Last Thursday I sent home a schedule of conferences for this week. If you are unable to make it at the time scheduled please let me know and I will reschedule. Thanks!

Also, regarding the conferences, please note that they are only 15 minutes long. If we need to spend more time discussing your child’s progress we can arrange another time to meet.

Report cards for the first quarter will be sent home this Friday, October 4. 

The Pancake Breakfast with the Principal will be this Friday, October 4, as well.

Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 11 will be Fall Break. There will be no school that week.

In science this week we will begin to read and learn about bats.
