Today is the 100th day of school! We will be participating in several special activities. Our math and reading activities do not involve homework today.
We are planning a field trip to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum on Monday, February 13. We will not be charged an entrance fee. Please sign and return the permission slip as soon as possible. We will need 5 chaperones. Please let me know if you would be able to chaperone this trip. (You must have a fingerprint card or fingerprints on file at the school.) Thanks!

Hi!
This Wednesday, December 14, we will be making "gingerbread" houses from graham crackers, frosting and candy. I would greatly appreciate your donation of any small fun decorative candy, or a can of white butter cream frosting. Thank you so much!
Wednesday, is also a special dress down day. The dollar will go to a new character program.
Report Card Day is this Friday, December 16. This will be a half day with no lunch served and no After School classes.
Christmas vacation begins Monday, December 19, and ends, Friday, December 30. We will be back in school Monday, January 2.

Our Holiday Concert will be on Monday, December 12, at 2:00, in the cafeteria. (This is separate from the Holiday concert on December 15. The first graders do not participate in that
concert) Please have your child wear jeans and a red shirt that day.
Also, it would be really nice if we all could bring cookies to share!

Please remember to take a few minutes to write a note describing an act good character your child demonstrates.
On Tuesday, November 22, our students will enjoy an all school Thanksgiving Feast. We (the first grade) are supposed to contribute corn. We would greatly appreciate it if you would send in a can of corn for the feast. Thanks!
Thanksgiving vacation begins on Wednesday, November 23. We will be back in school on Monday, November 28.
Please be sure your child completes the reading log every week. This is a required assignment!
