Wow - December already!
On Tuesday, December 15, at 2:00 we will have our holiday program. This will be only first grade permorming holiday songs in the school cafeteria. We hope you can be there!
This Wednesday we will be making mini "gingerbread" houses. I would like the children to have a variety of candies to decorate them. If you haven't done so already, and if you can, I would greatly appreciate it if you could please send in something to decorate them. We will need canned white frosting (buttercream works best), small candies, decorator icings, and/or anything you think would look good on a very small "gingerbread" house. Thank you so much.
Winter break will be from Thursday, December 17 through Friday, January 1. We will be back in school Monday, January 4.
There will be no after-school classes or lunch served on Wednesday, December 16. Report cards will be sent home that day.
Also, our class has earned another good character party! We decided to have it on Wednesday, December 16. On this day the children may wear pajamas or any appropriate-for-school attire (free dress down). If you would like to send in a yummy treat that would be nice too!

Report card day for the first quarter is Friday, October 9. This will be an early dismissal day (11:30). Lunch will not be served and there will be no after-school classes.
Harvest Break will be Monday and Tuesday, October 12 and 13. There will be no school on those days.
Thursday, October 8, is an extremely important day for La Paloma Academy. It is the 40th day of school and funding is based on attendance that day. Please make every effort to have your child in school that day. A special lunch will be served!
Also, because our class has been on their best behavior since the first day of school, they have earned their first character party! We thought that Thursday afternoon would be a great time to have it. The children may wear pajamas and bring slippers and a small stuffed toy. They will participate in free choice of classroom center activities and watch a movie. They would like to snack on a variety of goodies (chips, cookies, veggies and ranch dressing, etc.). If you would like to send in a store-bought treat for this occasion please feel free to do so.
