J  Hi everyone!

Please remember: Check your child’s homework every day.

The dress code at La Paloma Academy requires that student’s shirts be tucked in.  Please be sure your child comes to school with his/her shirt already tucked in.

This week students will be able to hold the zip-closed pouch the sugar gliders will be sleeping in. Again, if you do not want your child to hold this pouch please let me know immediately.  Thanks!

Next Tuesday, August 19, school pictures will be taken.  The students will be in school uniform for these pictures.

UPCOMING IN CLASS:

This week we will be reviewing vowel sounds and patterns.  We will discuss main idea in reading. And in math we will learn and review concepts including ordinal position, number words and place value.

 CONTACT NUMBERS

The phone number for La Paloma Academy is 721-4205.  If you wish to communicate through email, you may reach me at kwitt09@yahoo.com. (Since I may not recognize you’re email address, please enter your child’s name as the subject so that I know it is legitimate email – thanks).

HOMEWORK:

Please assist your child with his/her homework if needed and be sure he/she returns it the next day. This is very important since all homework assignments reinforce that which has been taught in class. It is also very important that your child takes responsibility for completing and returning his/her assignments.

This week’s spelling word list is attached to this week's newsletter. Please have your child read and practice the words every day.

Also attached to the newsletter is this week’s reading log.  This may be turned in on Monday to give your child an entire week to complete it.  Each entry may be a short book or one chapter from a chapter book.
