Hi!

This Wednesday, December 14, we will be making "gingerbread" houses from graham crackers, frosting and candy. I would greatly appreciate your donation of any small fun decorative candy, or a can of white butter cream frosting. Thank you so much!

Wednesday, is also a special dress down day. The dollar will go to a new character program.

Report Card Day is this Friday, December 16. This will be a half day with no lunch served and no After School classes.

Christmas vacation begins Monday, December 19, and ends, Friday, December 30. We will be back in school Monday, January 2.

Our Holiday Concert will be on Monday, December 12, at 2:00, in the cafeteria. (This is separate from the Holiday concert on December 15. The first graders do not participate in that
concert) Please have your child wear jeans and a red shirt that day.

Hi! I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!

Thank you so much for providing corn for our Thanksgiving Feast! The feast was yummy and everyone enjoyed it!

This Friday, December 2, is the Pancake Breakfast with the Principal.

This Friday, November 11, is Veteran's Day. There will be no school that day.

On Tuesday, November 22 (the day before Thanksgiving vacation) our students will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast. The first grade classes are supposed to contribute corn for this meal. It would be greatly appreciated if each student brought a can of corn.

Last week was a great week learning two new digraphs ( "th" and "ee") and continuing to learn how to solve math story problems. We also enjoyed reading about the seasons, and fall.

This Wednesday, October 5, is Duds for Dollars Day. Students do not have to wear their uniform if they bring in a dollar. This is a small fundraiser for each class.

On Wednesday, October 12, report cards will be sent home with your child.

Hi!

Hi Everyone!

Last week was a great week! We really enjoyed sharing our science "experiment" with grandparents on Wednesday. It is always nice to have grandparents around! :)

This Tuesday is La Paloma night at Skate Country. This is fun for everyone!

Please be sure your child comes to school in dress code and his/her shirt is tucked in. Thanks!

So that you can plan accordingly: October 13 and 14, Thursday and Friday, is Fall Break and there will be no school on those days.

FYI - I'm sure you realize that the public library is a great resource for books, tapes and videos. But did you know that you can check out these items online? You can reserve a book anytime. You just go to www.library.pima.gov, search the catalog for the book or item you want, click on the title, click on the reserve link, and enter your library card number and PIN. You can select any branch as the location to pick up your book and it will be ready in a few days!

Thank you very much for the supplies that you brought in. I truly appreciate it and everything is always put to very good use.

We will be spending much of our time this week learning classroom procedures. We will be reviewing most subjects.

Please read with your child everyday! Also, please assist your child with his/her homework if necessary. Homework is to be turned in everyday with the exception of Friday. There will be no homework on Fridays and I will return homework folders on Mondays.

Hard to believe it is the last week of school!

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that it has been wonderful having your children in my class. They are very special people and you must be so proud of them. I will miss having them in my class next year but I look forward to seeing them as "big" second graders!

The last day of school is this Wednesday, May 25. This will be a half day with no lunch served or after school classes. Report cards will be sent home that day.

Hi! Can you believe there are only eight more days of school! Wow how time flies!

Wednesday is Field Day. Any donation of bottled water and cut oranges that day would be greatly appreciated. Children will be required to wear shorts and shirt the entire day. They may wear a swimsuit under their clothing if they wish. Please be sure your child comes to school with sunscreen already applied. You might want to send a change of clothes.

This Thursday we will be going to Brandi Fenton Park for our end of the year field trip. If you have not returned a signed permission slip along with $4.00 please do so immediately. Children may wear a swimsuit at the park but they must wear clothing over their suits while at school. You might want to send a change of clothes this day as well.

The last day of school is Wednesday, May 25. This will be a half day with no lunch served and no after-school classes. Report cards will be sent home with your child that day.
