Hi!  I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Please remember to check your child’s homework every day.  

This Wednesday is Duds for Dollars Day.

We still need volunteers!  If you would like to help construct a 10 ft. x 10 ft. “Be Kind” mural, November 6 and 7, please contact Karen Stewart.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  

This month we will participate in the holiday food drive.

Next Tuesday, November 11, is Veterans Day. There will be no school that day.

This week students will learn digraphs kn, gn, wr, ou, ow, and diphthongs ou and ow. In reading students will read and identify features of expository text. In math students will identify and extend various patterns and solve word problems.

This week is both, drug and bully awareness week. We will be participating some school wide activities.

Tomorrow, October 28, picture retakes will be offered.

We are in need of volunteers!  If you are interested in volunteering to help construct a 10 ft. x 10 ft. “Be Kind” mural, November 6 and 7, please contact Karen Stewart.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  

This week students will learn digraphs ai, ay, ph, ea, and sight words. In reading students will compare and contrast two stories. In math students will subtract two and three digit numbers and solve word problems.

This Friday, October 24, is La Paloma Academy’s Harvest Fest.  This is an evening of games, family, friends, candy and fun!  I look forward to seeing you there! (Any donated bags of candy would be greatly appreciated!)

UPCOMING IN CLASS:          

This week students will learn prefixes and suffixes and review r-controlled vowels. In reading students will identify facts and details in a text. In math students will continue to count money, add with and without regrouping, and solve word problems.  

Please assist your child with his/her homework if necessary and be sure he/she returns it the next day.
