Hi!

Please remember: Check your child’s homework every day

Tuesday night, August 27, is La Paloma Night at Skate Country.

There will be no school Monday, September 2, Labor Day.

This week in science we will begin a focus on simple machines. In social studies we will create timelines of major life events.

Please assist your child with his/her homework if necessary and be sure he/she returns it the next day.

This week’s spelling words are attached.  Please be sure that your child reads and practices these words every day. Your child’s spelling test scores directly reflect the time they spend reading and practicing the words.

Also, your child must be the one that completes the reading log. The reading log is due on Monday so that your child may have the weekend to finish it.  It is essential that your child read as much as possible to strengthen her/his reading skills; and it is a required assignment.

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend!

I would like to thank you for bringing in school supplies. I truly appreciate it!

This Wednesday, August 7, is Duds for Dollars day.  Students may dress down (out of uniform) if they bring in a dollar.  Students must dress appropriately for school however. This is a monthly fundraiser for the classroom.

Please remember: Check your child’s homework every day. On Mondays I will be sending home a newsletter along with completed assignments and other school information or requests.

If you have not done so already please complete and return the Parent Questionnaire as soon as possible.  Thanks!

For those of you that wish to receive the newsletter through email I will begin to send it next week.

This week we will continue to spend time learning and reviewing classroom procedures and rules.  We will be reviewing most subjects.

Please assist your child with his/her homework and be sure he/she returns it the next day. This is very important since all homework assignments reinforce that which has been taught in class. It is also very important that your child takes responsibility for completing and returning his/her assignments.

Homework will be brought to and from school in a folder. Homework will consist of: one worksheet, weekly spelling words to practice daily, and a weekly reading log. The reading log will be sent home next week. There will be no homework on Fridays and the children will leave their folders at school that day. The folder will be sent home on Mondays with completed work, the newsletter, and other school information or requests.

This week's spelling words:
